Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a program developed specifically to help those suffering from pain, anxiety, and stress reduce their pain and cope with mental and physical illness.


In this world-renowned 9-week program, participants will learn about mindfulness and practices to increase self-awareness, self-regulation, and compassion, as well as tools to cope more effectively with both short- and long-term stressors. Each Saturday’s 2.5-hour session includes mindfulness insights along with guided mindfulness practice and group discussion. The course also includes a 7-hour, silent retreat-style day of practice which will take place on February 23rd, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.


The program was founded in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn and has since seen more than 25,000 participants. Grounded in science and research, MBSR draws upon 2600 years of wisdom and practice


No prior experience or knowledge of mindfulness is required. Graduates of the course report decreased stress, improved focus, sense of connection to themselves and others, and the capacity to recover more quickly from challenging events.
